Team Information

Team registration is closed for 2010!

You can still run or walk with a team if you  register as an individual in-person on May 7th (6:30am – 6:00pm) or before the RACE on May 8th, (6:30am to RACE time) in Walnut Hill Park.

Teams and Team Captains!

width= Teams are a way for families, friends, businesses and other groups to join together and show their support for a survivor, a loved one and the CT RACE in the Park.

Any type group is eligible to be a team – businesses, families, school groups, ski clubs, social organizations, church groups, scout troops, sports teams, police departments, fire departments, running clubs, etc.

There is no minimum size for teams but we recommend at least 8 members.  If any team has 10 or more members, the team captain receives a team hat.

Team members can choose to participate in any event – running, walking, Kids’ Challenge. An award will be presented to the largest team.

Become a Team Captain

  • Organize a group of co-workers, family members, friends, etc. for a day of fun and help us to make a difference locally to fight breast cancer through education and research.
  • Plan your team recruiting campaign – find a few people to help you – publicize your team – set a cutoff date for entries.
  • Register your team online (See below for directions).
  • Or Register team members offline (by paper) (Download application form Here) and Download roster form Here). Mail the forms and check(s) to CTBHI, PO Box 566, New Britain, CT 06050.  Checks are payable to CT RACE in the Park.
  • Or Request a team packet by calling the CTBHI office at 860-827-7103.
  • Encourage family, friends, and other colleagues to collect pledges for the ‘Friends Asking Friends’ pledge program (Click Here to download a pledge collection form, or Pledge Here Online).
  • Inform your team members to pick up their own bib numbers and t-shirts at the Team Tent on May 7 or on Race Day.
  • Inform anyone who registered for ‘Seeds of Hope’ to report to the “Garden Tent’ to pick up their bibs and t-shirts.
  • Enjoy a fun day on May 8, 2010

Team Online Registration

To START a Team Online (For Team Captains – Deadline is midnight April 18, 2010)

  1. Click Here to register, then click  “Register Here” if you haven’t already registered;
  2. Please read the waiver and click on “I agree”;
  3. Click on “Start a Team” ( When you form a team you will automatically be designated as the Team Captain);
  4. Enter a Team name and other Team information, then “Continue” to your individual registration;
  5. Provide all contact and registration information, the event in which you are participating, t-shirt size, etc;
  6. Provide a credit card number (This is a secure website and your privacy is guaranteed);
  7. Confirm the transaction;
  8. Inform potential team members of the name of your team.

To JOIN a Team Online (Deadline is midnight April 25, 2010)

  1. Follow steps 1,2 above;
  2. Click on “Join a Team”;
  3. Find the team name and click on it;
  4. Follow steps 5-7 above.

To MANAGE Your Team Online (For Captains Only)

  1. When new members sign up, you will receive an email;
  2. Review your progress in fund raising and send information to your team by updating your webpage.

Notes:

  • Some team members may choose to register by paper.  Captains can either download directions for paper registration or request a team packet at 860-827-7103 which explains the procedure to handle paper registrations.
