B-Tag Instructions
Timing Services and Results
| The RACE IN THE PARK will be using the B-Tag as the method of scoring the race for all runners. The B-Tag must be properly worn on your RACE Bib from the start to finish in order to be recognized in completing the race and receiving the official finish time. Read more about how to affix the B-Tag to your bib. | ![]() |
| Prize awards are based on official “gun” time, the time elapsed from the official start signal to your B-Tag recording at the finish. Age group awards in the RACE are based on “net” time. Your net time starts as you leave the start line and your B-Tag is noted, so this time shows your actual time on the course.
Your B-Tag is part of your registration packet and can be retrieved at Registration/ Packet Pick-up. Race Bib numbers are used for identification purposes and must be worn and clearly visible from the front of your body throughout the race. |

What to do with the B-Tag if you drop out of the race:
- DO NOT cross the finish line with your B-Tag attached to your bib if you drop out of the race. The tag will mistakenly register you as a finisher, causing problems with our results.
- If you are forced to cross the finish line. remove the B-Tag and discard it well before you cross the finish line mats.
- If you drop out of the race, stay well away from any timing equipment on the course or at the finish.
- If you know at packet pickup that you will not run your event, please return the B-Tag to the registration staff.
The B-Tag is disposable.
