CT Breast Health Initiative

Ted Christopher, 7-time Stafford Motor Speedway SK Modified® Champion and 2008 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Champion, will be the driver that will be racing for the Connecticut Breast Health Initiative for the 2011 CARQUEST Champions for Charities Challenge at Stafford Speedway on Tuesday, June 28, 2011.  The CT Breast Health Initiative has set up an on-line donation method at the bottom of this page.  Funds go into the CTBHI Paypal account and are credited to Ted.  Christopher has also set up an account at Farmington Savings Bank in Plainville for fans to donate to the Race to the Finish to Beat Breast Cancer. Fans can either make a donation in person, or they can send their donation in by mail to Farmington Savings Bank, 117 East Street, Plainville, CT 06062.

During the 2010 NASCAR racing season at Stafford Motor Speedway, Ted  has been racing to help beat breast cancer. For each victory that Christopher recorded this season at Stafford, he donated $100 to Breast Cancer Research in Connecticut through CT BHI and he donated $1 for every lap he completed at Stafford this season. For every dollar that Christopher contributed to the Race To The Finish To Beat Breast Cancer, Stafford Motor Speedway matched Christopher’s total. Christopher’s total stood at $1,495 after he recorded his first SK Modified® feature victory of the 2010 season.  Later earnings and the Stafford Speedway contribution raised the total to $4,000  for breast cancer research.  The CTBHI was presented with a check on the last weekend of the season.

“We’ve had a great response so far,” said Christopher. “It’s been great to have Mark and Lisa and Stafford involved with matching the wins and laps. Dale Nelson is going to match my win total, and I’ve had several fans who have offered donations. We’ve raised $4,000 so far this year and we can have a nice big check to present at the Fall Final.”

“I’m really looked forward to the last couple of races of the season,” said Christopher. “We had a new car a couple weeks ago when we won and anytime you have a new car, there is lots of stuff that you can improve on after your first time out with the car.

All the money that Christopher raises is spread among several hospitals and breast cancer researchers throughout Connecticut, keeping the donations local.
